Pilea Peperomioides

He was for a very long time the king of social networks!

Originally from south-west China, he is a member of the Urticaceae family.

A few years ago, it was very difficult to find him in the shops: micro-cuttings at a golden price, exchange and waiting list in garden centres were legion at the time! A real green fever!

Today, the Pilea has become a great classic, very accessible and above all an easy-care plant that will suit any gardener!

The number one secret of a healthy Pilea peperomioides is the light, it loves it! Find a spot where it will benefit from good light without direct sunlight, which could damage its beautiful foliage.

Its leaves will turn towards the light source, so if you want your Pilea to have a very regular shape, don't hesitate to rotate it from time to time, but you can also easily let it take the shape it wants, so it will cascade nicely from its pot.

It grows very quickly and multiplying is child's play!

Pilea peperomioides is a plant that is easy to care for and very resistant, even to pest attacks. It is suitable for all kinds of interiors and gardeners!

Give it a light potting soil 50% potting soil 40% peat 10% perlite .

 Your Pilea peperomioides will appreciate a potting soil that is always fresh. 

It's a heavy drinker! Water it copiously, then let the potting soil dry slightly in between waterings. It should be abundant in the summer and then gradually spaced out in the winter. Check the moisture content of the potting soil before watering to make sure your plant needs it.

Be careful never to leave standing water in the saucer!

Regularly spray its foliage with non-calcareous water, and don't forget to give it a regular supply of fertiliser on sunny days.
