Selenicereus chrysocardium

The Selenicereus chrysocardium is an epiphytic cactus native to Mexico, unlike the desert cactus, it does not take root in the ground but on the trees of the tropical forests.

Its long zigzag leaves almost give it the look of a fern and if you take care of it, it will give you a beautiful white bloom.

Epiphytic cacti are among the easiest cacti to grow, unlike the dryland cactus. It will enjoy a beautiful light without direct sunlight.

A light and well-drained substrate: 50% potting soil, 40% peat and 10% perlite.

It is watered copiously, taking care to let the substrate dry slightly on the surface. Epiphytic cacti like a sunny situation without excess.

In order to be lucky enough to see its magnificent flowering, it is essential to have a cold period of about 10°C in winter. Epiphyllums that are warm all year round do not bloom or bloom very little.

And don't forget to give it a regular supply of fertiliser on sunny days.
